Welcome to Eckert Writing

Homepage of T.C. and Joseph Eckert, father-son novelists. We have our own works as well as novels on which we are collaborating, bringing our unique interests and talents together.

T.C. Eckert

T.C. is a former Air Force officer, retired college president, husband, father, and grandfather.  He has a bachelor’s and master’s in Psychology and a doctorate in Education.  He enjoys golf, gin, fine cigars, and great stories in any format from novels to film.  He has an active layman’s interest in theoretical physics, as well as a love for the American West, having grown up on a ranch.  He knows horses and loves traveling the world, watching Formula 1 racing, and writing about the magnificent strangeness of life.

T.C.’s solo works tend toward life stories featuring complex characters, complicated relationships, and the innerworkings of family.  His characters often face significant challenges, but with humor, grace, and courage they find their way through the trials placed before them—emerging stronger and wiser, with a greater appreciation for the part they play in this mystery that is ours to live.

Joseph Eckert

Joseph is an avid photographer, father, husband, and a man who can appreciate a good bourbon, Scotch, or craft brew. He has a master’s degree in political science and an eclectic professional background including radio station DJ and data visualization/data engineer. He loves video games, films and novels, friendly dogs, cooking, and imagination.

Joseph’s solo work spans multiple genres but generally hews closer to speculative fiction and fantasy with a sprinkling of horror and a dusting of philosophical musings. Character remains paramount – tossing a character into the proverbial tree and throwing rocks at them to see what they do is most interesting when the reader cares about them.

T.C. and Joseph Collaborations

Together, writing collaboratively as a father-son team, T.C. and Joseph have worked on novels that combine their talents and interests in unique and interesting ways. They are hard at work on a mystery series set in small-town rural Montana.
